About the Nostalgia Collection
My mom, sister, and I were going through old photographs one day. I found several that would make amazing paintings—from gorgeous English gardens to rural southern US roads, and some that I have no clue what they are of or when they were taken. They are beautiful just the same. Although some of them are mysterious, I’m so glad that we have these photos that my family has taken throughout the years. Somewhere, sometime, someone I love thought it was beautiful, and I feel as though I am seeing it through their eyes. In these paintings, I hoped to portray the nostalgic feel through simple composition and the muted color palette that characterizes photographs of the past.
